Köfte, actually does not have any strict definition. Generally speaking it is a bit of ground meat, lamb or beef, mixed with some spices and grilled, baked, or otherwise cooked.

 

There are thousands of variations of the food, but all have one thing in common, they are suitable to appease the carnivore in you. Eat them as a sandwich called “Köfte Ekmek” grilled, called “Izgara Köfte”, or with a sauce “Sulu Köfte.”
